Furthermore, e-learning removes the necessity for students to travel for classes. Each platform has its own specific focus. For example, Udemy offers courses on many different subjects such as photography, baking and more. On the other hand, edX is focused on formal education and has partnerships with universities and organizations such as IBM and Harvard to offer accredited certificates and degrees. Other platforms include Skillshare which is a platform that focuses on innovative topics, MasterClass which is a subscription-based service that includes celebrity and VIP instructors and Pluralsight which is more of a business-focused learning solution. All of these platforms are accessible either as a desktop application or mobile app and some even allow users to download their courses for offline viewing.
